"L.E.E.P.A.A.C.": an awkward acronym for an outstanding organization. Officially incorporated as the Law Enforcement Explorer Post Advisor's Association of Colorado, "L.E.E.P.A.A.C." (as it is more commonly known) is an organization that provides support to Law Enforcement Exploring Posts along Colorado's Front Range and beyond.

L.E.E.P.A.A.C. traces its roots to the 1983 National Law Enforcement Explorer Conference, held at Colorado State University in Ft. Collins, Colorado. Several Advisors from Colorado met, and recognizing the benefits of mutual support and shared resources, organized the association of Advisors and Posts that became L.E.E.P.A.A.C. in 1984.

That year was also significant in that it saw the organization of the first "State Conference", modeled on the "National Conference" design. It drew less than 60 Explorers from a dozen Posts, but was deemed a success, and proved to be a model for the future. L.E.E.P.A.A.C. continues to host State Conferences on an annual basis.

Shared resources allows L.E.E.P.A.A.C. to host frequent training and competitive events that parallel the competitions found at Regional and National Conferences Additionally, L.E.E.P.A.A.C. sponsors an affordable Basic Law Enforcement Academy (80 hours) for Explorers.  L.E.E.P.A.A.C. also continues the practice of sponsoring an annual "Leadership Conference" for the youth leaders of member Posts and in 2006 hosted its first "Advisors Conference" in Estes Park, Colorado.

Incorporated in 1990 as an IRS-sanctioned "501 (C93)) non-profit" corporation, L.E.E.P.A.A.C. is also engaged in supporting the advanced education of it's members, awarding college scholarships annually.

At present, nearly 30 active Posts from Colorado, Texas, California, Arizona, Florida, and South Dakota constitute the membership. L.E.E.P.A.A.C. is served by an elected Board of five officers: Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary and Historian, who are advised by an appointed youth representative and the Exploring Executives from local BSA Councils. Membership is open to any duly constituted and registered Law Enforcement Explorer Post. Annual dues are $50.00. Business meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month at 11:00 AM.; the site varies as member agencies take turns in hosting the meetings.
