REGIONAL CONFERENCE BACKGROUND
In 1983, while at the National Law Enforcement Explorer Conference in Fort Collins, Colorado, several advisors from Colorado Law Enforcement Posts met and considered the possibility of developing a state conference for Colorado. A date was set for a meeting and numerous advisors from different agencies attended. The advisors formed an association and named it the Law Enforcement Explorer Post Advisor’s Association of Colorado (L.E.E.P.A.A.C.). The purpose of the association was to sponsor a State Conference for law enforcement explorers. The association recognized the fact that many explorers could not afford to attend the National Conference and wished to provide a low cost local conference in which they could participate. NEW EXPLORERS
The LEEPAAC Board expects that Explorers participating in team competitions have either completed a basic academy or have at least six months of experience in the program before the conference. New, untrained Explorers may face disadvantages during competitions and could negatively affect their team's performance. Therefore, new Explorers are encouraged to attend the conference as working Explorers. This allows them to enjoy the conference experience without being a liability to the competing teams and will be assigned duties along-side advisors.

ADVISORS
Advisors are required to participate as judges and role-players in at least one competition. They will also be responsible for working throughout the duration of the competition to ensure fairness and consistency in judging and role-playing. Advisor assignments will be distributed during the advisor meeting that takes place immediately after the Opening Ceremonies. Assignments for advisors will be distributed during the advisor meeting, which will take place immediately after the Opening Ceremonies.
The L.E.E.P.A.A.C. Conference Committee will initially invite advisors to volunteer for specific tasks; however, they reserve the right to assign any unfilled tasks as needed. Please be aware that advisor assignments may be changed by the Committee at any time. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding, as schedules and plans may be adjusted during the conference.
Advisors who work at conference events will be entered into a drawing for gift cards for each day of the competitions and for each event they participate in. The drawing will take place during the closing ceremony, and you must be present to win. Please note that advisors with multiple entries in the drawing can only win once.
